Come Together - Right Now

posted by eniginenigin in enigin

“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”

So said Henry Ford about team work, and he be described as successful in business!

At Enigin we realise the importance of team work, it is a vital element of our success as a quality energy saving business.

As a globally operating company we also realise the importance of teaming up with distributors - hence we have a close knit team at Enigin PLC head quarters and a looser team working towards success around the world.

We also encourage Enigin Distributors to build up their own close knit team - again this is a critical success factor for their own energy saving business.

The Far South West

posted by enigin in enigin

The Enigin team reside for the most part in the far south west of England, an area of rich nautical and industrial history.

The south west was often the first point of contact/return for overseas travellers heading east and the last point of contact/departure for those heading west across the Atlantic. Hence it is closely tied in with the discoveries and eventual colonisation of the much of the globe by the British.

Fantasy Football - It’s Easy from the Sidlelines

THE World Cup has started in South Africa and Enigin’s Marketing Director Troy Wrigley emailed the Enigin team inviting all to compete in a Fantasy League - you know what I mean, a Fantasy Sport Competition where you choose your players and they get points for various things they do through the season or competition.

I mention this on the Sunday afternoon while a World Cup match is being played because I currently lead the table with my wise and astute choices! That will soon change but we are doing it for a bit of fun. Choosing a team name and the players made me think about Enigin Partners and their venturing into an energy saving business.

With Fantasy Leagues it is all fantasy, there is skill in picking the right players and then changing them atr the right time depending on who is on form etc. and like all such sport games it is easier than the reality.

WHEN working as a team in many cases you need tactics and shape.

You maybe playing sports or flying fighter jets, you need a formation or shape to be able to be organised to achive your goals as a team - it is no different here at Enigin.

Enigin at the Movies

I love going to the cinema, I also enjoy a good film on DVD or Blu-Ray at home, and like most work teams I know I am not the only one involved with Enigin.

Whether it was the writers strike, the recession or something else it has been a great 12 months for movie productions and promises to be so over the next few months, at least.

Despite this I know I am not the only one to have found the run away success at the awards ceremonies, The Hurt Locker, a disappointment.

I didn’t see it in the cinema, and maybe that makes a difference, and first started to watch it when Enigin’s Sales Director and myself flew to Florida to team up with Enigin Partner Ekon Energy in Daytona Beach. It was one of the choice on the flight - I started to watch it but soon tired of the characters and story so switched to another film.

Vanities Aflame

I am just reading an American modern classic - The Bonfire of the Vanities by Tom Wolfe.

Although set a few years back it could have been for today, or at leats covering the last few years.

Wolf wanted the book to be the ultimate New York novel, and he certainly achieved that, but it is the world he portrays that is interesting.

A Tight Team Is Vital

How vital it is we have a tight team at Enigin and good that we do.

Whatever industry you are in you need to work with a tight team - that is a team that work tightly together and not pulling against each other.

It is very easy within the work place to find team members working individually, either due to poor delegation or selfishness.

Illustrated Sport - Enigin

Sports is so often used to illustrate life, because the effort and determination put in during a reasonably short sporting match, event etc. leads to success.

Formerly working within professional soccer I have often used that to illustrate points - even during Enigin training.

With success and goals or targets involved in sports it is even more often used to illustrate business life and practices.

Plus, to really succeed needs consistency, to win a championship, a series, a season, a challenge cup all requires not just one battle but many and generally winning more than you lose.

…..And It’s All Over For Enigin Training This Year!

posted by enigin in Uncategorized

It’s Friday 18th December and officially the last day of Enigin training 2009! To finish the year in true UK style, the weather has decided to throw its last challenge into the equation……SNOW!

Yes….the city of London has been greeted with a flurry of flakes overnight resulting in the two main airports closing! Not great news for the training team trying to get our latest Distributors home! None the less, Enigin will rise to the occasion and make sure everyone is home and dry before Christmas!

It’s true that Enigin have seen every weather front possible this year. Cornwall ground to a halt back in February following our own snowstorm….but did Enigin fall back? Not at all……some team members even put on their wellington boots and hiked to the office after failing to ‘de-bury’ their cars! A flash of lightening and boom of thunder followed by a complete powercut was the next weather front that hit the Enigin office….but did we panic? No way!

Of course – for the majority of the year Cornwall is graced with blazing sunshine – naturally making trips to the UK slightly more comfortable for our Distributors travelling from the extremely hot regions of the globe.

Welcoming and greeting our final Enigin Distributors of the year made me think back to what a wide and diverse range of people I have had the pleasure to meet throughout the last twelve months. This is one of the many aspects of my job that I love, having the opportunity to learn more about different countries and cultures during our monthly training.

I always find it interesting to watch how course attendees differ in their approach to the Enigin opportunity – sadly some decide not to listen to our recommendations and approach at all then wonder why things become difficult later on.

However, I am happy to say that the majority of Distributors arrive at Enigin Head Office with the intention of listening hard, taking on board all the information we have to pass on, and respectively return to their own countries and make a success of their Energy Saving Business.

More thoughts on the diverse range of Distributors soon.

Enigin – The Last Course of 2009!

posted by enigin in Uncategorized

Well it’s Wednesday – bang smack in the middle of the last training course of 2009!

Cornwall graced us with glorious sunshine at the start of the week to welcome both new Enigin Distributors and Open Day attendees to the head office for registration, friendly introductions and tasty refreshments.

Already this week the course ‘pre-graduates’ have been gleefully overwhelmed with information to help them run their own Energy Saving Business back in their respective countries.

Managing Director, Ian Wrigley started the week and got the ball well and truely rolling by addressing the group and welcoming them to Enigin and their new and exciting business venture.

We also had our star electrician, Paul Nicholson, join us during the second day to assist Business Development Manager, Calvin Conroy, demonstrate a live Eniscope Installation step by step. It’s been fantastic to hear the continuous positive feedback that always follows this session – what more could Distributors ask for….not only do we provide them with the fabulous products and awesome tools to use them…..we show them how to do it! Enigin pride ourselves on thoroughness and ensure that everyone who attends the training course is completely confident in the tools, the products and the amazing Enigin opportunity which, ultimately, means you and your business benefit hugely from the experience resulting in massive energy savings.

As I write I have just finished my final Nucleus (Enigin’s very own CRM system) training session of 2009 and am all ready to continue proving to Distributors in the New Year what an exclusively fantastic system it is to use. More on Nucleus in future blogs!

Well, it’s Wednesday and that means dinner time! The team are also gearing up for the last Enigin training meal of the year – always a good opportunity to chat outside the office and get to know Distributors - who knows what antics they’ll get up to tonight!

That’s all for now - tune in for the last ‘Class of 2009′ graduation at the end of the week!
